La Llorona - Traditional Mexican Folk Song Cover

a variety of verses have been created for this song, and this particular series of verses is only a small handful of those developed over the years...if you check out different renditions of the song, you'll find the verses in different order, almost as though they are randomly chosen for each performance...

...according to the Spanish Wikipedia, this song may be as old as the time of the Mexican Revolution (early 1900s)...

...there is also the tale of la llorona...a woman who killed her children to be with the man she loved...today, parents tell their children that the ghost of la llorona still looks for her own children, and will kidnap little ones found wandering away from their parents....(you can imagine this must keep kids in check and close to their parents' side...haha)...also, those that hear the weeping cries of la llorona are said to be marked for death...i have heard, however, that this la llorona has nothing to do with the one in the song....
