Recorded in one day in a Toronto high school. We want our song heard by Barack Obama! Help us spread the word!

The student vocals really kick in after about a couple of minutes, so please be patient.

On Thursday, February 12th, students dropped in and out of Ms.Price's office throughout the day to sing lines from Barack Obama's inauguration speech. The final product is magic.
The whole day was caught on video, as well as shots around the school throughout the following week.

For more info on the students and the project, check out www.pricework.weebly.com

Please spread the word. We want it heard by Barack Obama!

(and by Will.I.Am, because his "Yes We Can" song was our inspiration)

  • Wait a second...

I'm a big Obama fan myself, but Michelle Jean became the first black Governor General right here in Canada back in 2005. Surely we should be showing pride in that accomplishment more than we do in the individual our neighbours to the south elected.

    Where's her song?

  • After we finished The Obama Song, I looked up speeches by Michelle Jean to do a Canadian tribute. Jean's speeches (that I found) are all very topical. Obama's speech offered lines that are universal.

I still think that a Canadian version is worth pursuing and perhaps we will continue to search out good audio of Michelle Jean, but in the meantime, you are more than welcome to make your own tribute to her.

Luckily, I am not the only person in Canada with a computer and a video camera.

  • As a lifelong student of history, I see this as yet another indoctrination project by the school system and that is very sad if school credit was given in any way for this effort.

However, it was beautifully put together, good job to the students, however abhorrent the message may be.

  • This is Dara from Hollywood - wanted to tell you that this video is beautiful and inspiring!

  • Fantastic Job! Just heard about it on the news...gives me hope for my boys (ages 4 & 7), that they too can be part of something special when they grow up...You should all be very proud of yourselves...

  • Great job Weston. I loved your video, the tunes, the moves, the signs and the speach.

  • Why is he so special? He doesn't need words, you can feel how different it is. He is one of the greatest just by being himself.

  • President Obama said basically the same things as President Bush - just different word choice, same meanings.

    Why is he so special?

  • this is amazing,

  • 6:02 ^.^
