It's much easier for them now. People on Facebook update what they're doing every couple of hours and even update their location.

Yea right mate. But now anyone can spy on us. And how much more easier is it for the govt to spy on us? Not to mention how anything you say can and will be used against you. Think about it. I think alot of people will find themselves in situations where they will be held accountable for the things they have said online. Anyone can dig up your comments and use them against you.

its not that they cant your information its that facebook makes it a hell of a lot easier for the governments to access it, like a supermarket ... a one stop shop and hey presto! here are your friends, where you've been, dated etc
