  • @20PINKluvr lmao the males don't have stingers

  • a big male possibly was out pollinating the cactus in the front of my house when i got out to get the paper... so scary and loud.. i didnt want it to land on me

  • @CellarDoor06 Kill em both..=-)

  • These damn things! I like that they're so social and wanna see whats up and all, but crap, I never can tell the difference between the male and female to know which one to swat and which to leave alone, haha.

  • @trunsako95zelda Yea I heard that males don't have stingers, so maybe it was a female I picked up

  • @gsbluez77 Actually I think it was one the genders that didn't have a stinger.

  • @trunsako95zelda They don't sting, but if you intentionaly bother them to the point that their lives would be at risk like holding them, they will sting and it is one heck of a pain. They never sting you, but one time when I was a kid i smacked one of it and it got crippled as if it was dead, so i picked it up cause I thought it was already incapable of harming sinced it looked dead, and it stinged my lower thumb, the pain was really bad

  • @trunsako95zelda that is sort of true. The male which is the one you typically see out gathering pollen can not sting. The female can sting.

  • I've heard that these bees have no stingers, is this true? Because I have a phobia of stinging insects and I believe these types of bees are the ones flying everywhere when I mow my lawn (I have to mow 9 acres of land). They mostly land ontop of white clover, which I have a crap ton in my yard.

  • God... that's painted wood and it still didn't deter her?

I was reading there is no real way to prevent them other than painting the wood... but from this is appears painting isn't even 100% for prevention.

I dislike these suckers. I want to trap them and then torture them slowly. First I'd tug the little wings off and then I'd beat them in the head with them.

My fence posts I -just- put up are already falling victim to these little nuisances. Do not like them. Not at all.
