hi! i have also a 6 year old son.i've teaching him table tennis for 3-4 months now.he has a good skills and he learned very fast. but the problem is he is not so serious in playing. sometimes when he's playing table tennis, he hit the ball very hard imagining a baseball game, and laughing. what shall i do to make him serious in playing?i want him to become a champion. thanks!

@yangyang45 It is difficult to make someone serious if they aren't. One thing that used to keep Fred going was incorporating little games into the practices. eg He would score a point if he got the ball on 10 times and I would score if he didn't. I also used to have targets on the table like sweets which he could eat if he hit them.

Well, I hope they are impressed enough to take up the sport. Who knows, they might even play one day.

I'm sure he will make good progress if he can maintain his interest in table tennis. How far he can get, who knows. Only time will tell.
