It's Going To Be Okay - Episode 16 Part 1

*The next morning, in Joes hospital room, Kevin and Nick were on the couch sleeping. Demi was still laying next to Joe, and Selena, Miley and David were waiting outside of the room. All of a sudden, Demi starts to feel a light breeze on her head. She looks up and sees Joes staring down at her, with a blank look on his face*
Demi: Oh my god, youre awake.
Joe: (Nods his head)
Demi: (Leans up and kisses him)
Joe: (Pulls away quickly) Who are you?
Demi: (Just stares at him as tears start to build in her eyes)

*Nick and Kevin wake up at the sound of his voice*
Nick: (Gets up and walks over to Joe) Youre awake!
Kevin: (Gets up too and walks over beside Nick) Joe, its good to see you buddy.
Joe: (Confused) Do I know you guys?
Nick: (Shocked) Were your brothers. Im Nick, your younger brother?
Kevin: Im Kevin, youre older brother?
Joe: (Shakes his head) What happened? Am I supposed to know all of you?
Demi: (In a great amount of pain, climbs out of the bed, and stands up. She looks at Joe, as a few tears fall down her face. Then she turns around and walks slowly out of the room, while clenching her stomach)
Nick: Joe, you were in a car crash. You just woke up from a coma.
Joe: You keep calling me Joe. I assume thats my name?
Kevin: Do you remember anything?
Joe: (Shakes his head again)
Nick: (Sad) Ill go get the Doctor.

*In the hallway*
David: (Notices Demi walking out of the room, crying and holding her stomach) Demi!
Demi: (She leans her back against the wall outside of the door, and slides to the ground) He He has no memory.
Miley: (Shocked) What?
Demi: He woke up, and I kissed him. But then he pulled away and asked who I was. He doesnt even know who his brothers are.
Selena: (Gets up and goes to sit beside her) Demi I am so sorry.
Demi: (Just cries as she rests her head on her knees)

*Nick walks out of the room, and rushes down the hall. A few seconds later, he walks back next to the Doctor. The Doctor tells him that he needed to talk to Kevin and Joe alone, and that Nick should wait in the hall.*
Nick: (Looks down at Demi, with her head buried into her knees. He then sits down beside her and pulls her into a hug. He just stares at Selena, with a hurt and disappointed look in his eyes)
David: Nick, hes knows youre his brother, right?
Nick: (Shakes his head, and starts to rock Demi as she cries)
Miley: Im sure he does somewhere inside. It just might take him some time to realize who anyone is. Hell get his memory back.
Nick: (Looks at Miley) Will he? How do you know that? Are you psychic?
Miley: No, but--
David: (Rests his hand on Mileys shoulder and shakes his head) Things will work out the way theyre supposed to, Nick. And if he doesnt remember, it doesnt mean we cant still be a part of his life. He liked everyone before and there is no reason why he wont again.
Nick: (Kisses Demis head as she still cries) Thanks for trying, man. But it will never really be the same (He looks back at Selena)
Selena: (Stares back at him, then puts her hand on top of his)
Nick: (Still staring at her, he moved his hand, repositioning it on Demis arm)
Selena: (Starts to get tears in her eyes. She stands up, still looking at him. Then she turns around and walks away)

*In Joes room*
Doctor: In cases like these, immediate memory loss is common. There is a 4% chance that he wont regain memory of any kind, but the memory is often completely regained after the first three to five days of consciousness.
Kevin: So there is a good chance that he will get his memory back?
Doctor: That is correct.
Joe: And what if I dont?
Doctor: There will be some therapy sessions offered to you if you dont remember anything after five days. This usually pushes the memory along enough so that you will regain it bit by bit.
Kevin: And if it never comes back?
Doctor: This is very rare in a case like this, but if he doesnt regain any memory what so ever, then hell just have to trust that his records are correct, and basically will have to start a new life. And because hes 18, hes free to do so, however he chooses.
Kevin: Thank you Doctor.
Doctor: We will keep monitoring him for now. But it might be a good idea to keep him around people who are familiar, or a big part of his life. Friends, and of course family.
Kevin: (Nods as the Doctor leaves the room)
Joe: So, Kevin, right?
Kevin: Right.
Joe: How old are you? And dont I have any parents?
Kevin: I am 22. Our parents split up and walked out of our lives three years ago. I have been taking care of you. And for the past year or so, Nick has been living with us, too.
Joe: Okay I remember not seeing my parents for a long time. I guess now I know why.
Kevin: Right. I work full time, and you and Nick go to school.
