Cake or Death?

For the fruit bottom:

4 cups fresh fruit
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons corn starch Pinch of salt

In a large bowl combine, folding together. Pour into bottom of cake pan.

For the 2 egg cake:

1/2 cup vegetable shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cream shortening one minute at high speed.
Add sugar gradually, beating in.
Add eggs, beat well.
Add sifted ingredients, milk and vanilla.
Beat well.

Bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes.

@youwish2009 Yep. Any type. I usually use apples and strawberries, 2 cups of each. It may sound odd, but it turns our pretty great.
