"The capital's top neocons" insisted "the decision had been made." They informed him that all the Bush Administration talk about the UN was nothing more than "the obligatory charade we had to go through for world public opinion."

Iran War, Real Fear Petraeus Beating War Drums for Attack
DeYoung also writes that Powell believes Bush sees the Palestinian/Israeli struggle in "black and white" terms and called Rumsfeld's team "the JINSA crowd," a reference to the neoconservative Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs. - BY CORKY SIEMASZKO

"On no issue is the JINSA/CSP hard line more evident than in its relentless campaign for war--not just with Iraq, but "total war," as Michael Ledeen, one of the most influential JINSAns in Washington, put it"
"There are some in military and intelligence circles who have taken to using "axis of evil" in reference to JINSA and CSP, along with venerable repositories of hawkish thinking like the American Enterprise Institute and the Hudson Institute, as well as defense contractors, conservative foundations and public relations entities underwritten by far-right American Zionists (all of which help to underwrite JINSA and CSP). - The Men From JINSA and CSP

When did the word " Neo-Con " change to mean lifelong Republicans ? I wonder if a dog still means dog ? I hope you didn't buy T-shirts....

No, it doesn't explain everything. You make tons of wild assumptions and put words into people's mouths, you're not capable.
If anything it's the counterproductive arrogant foreign policy which has left you more alone than in years. Countries dumping the dollar, massive debt.. act like an empire and you'll end just like an empire.
You'll find that you're very alone in this world speaking for neoconservatism so you won't be educating people but rather defending its outdated views. Oh have fun.

This explains EVERYTHING. I assumed you were an American. My fault. Your arguments were identical to those of pious, pedantic Europeans who are always happy when America's stature in the world is reduced, but there are many who share these anti-American sentiments right here in my country; whose interpretation of American history is just as misguided as yours is. I understand, and I have zero interest in further attempting to educate a Scandinavian who worships at the altar of mediocrity.

I'm not an American. I'm born in Finland and now live in Sweden. Didn't you check my profile?
Its not just leadership. Its more than that. What do you not get? No, I'm not ok with UN as it is, again you're putting words into my mouth. And not Russia and China either. USA is a rogue state. Does what it almost always wants. And if they had more soldiers, preferably robots you can be damn sure that more countries would already have permanent US presence, whether they like it or not.

I wouldn't say that if I was both religious and deeply supportive of neocon policy.
Chances are you're not skeptically minded enough. Naively buy into war propagande for instance.

GOOD! Why in God's name are you, an American, OPPOSED to America maintaining a role of strong leadership in the world? Who would you prefer take the reigns of power in the world? Fucking Russia or China?? What the hell is WRONG with you people??? You're OKAY with the UN, a group of corrupt, despotic, third-world killers and strongmen to tell us when and how we can protect ourselves? A larger military sends a clear message to rogue states to think twice before they do something stupid.
LuckyPierre78 in reply to Hirnlego999 (Show the comment) 2 years ago
I would call this trite, erroneous, unprovable and stupid, but I think you already know this. Once you become a slave to bullshit, it's hard to change. To acknowledge misinformation is to also acknowledge that you've been wrong all along, and no one likes to do that.

I've seen plenty of documentaries, most of which I've now forgotten. No idea who Shadia is, never heard of the name.
No, I believe some diplomacy is designed to fail in the first place to give justifications, just like painting that aircraft plan in UN colors and wish it would be shot down by Saddam would've done. Good o'le manipulation. Just finding ways of doing it... not that many plans happen (like the UNplan) but they certainly are considered. Untrusthy and transparent drumbeatings for war
Hirnlego999 in reply to LuckyPierre78 (Show the comment) 2 years ago
I get it, you've seen the BBC film about the neocons, you may have read Shadia Drury's breathtakingly incoherent book, and you seem to believe all of it. You can't seem to comprehend that there is a body of thinkers within American politics who believe that a strong America is good for the world. You don't understand that endless negotiating with rogue governments - the preferred strategy of self-described pragmatists and moderates - is likely to bring about the very crisis it is meant to avert.

They seek it if they can find it but do not see it as that important. This is why there has been tons of anti-UN rhetoric from the right in the last well 7 years or so. Not that the UN is perfect (I don't think any institution really is) or anything.
Pre-emptive war is not legal..so of course they will not find much support at UN. Seems to me it was only because of Powell that Bush even bothered with the inspections at all...
