Whats the difference between instant boot and hibernation though? Hibernation is supposed to be better than sleep mode and it doesnt require more energy than just shutting off the computer.

its less efficient because the CPU is still active

and it takes some power to keep the RAM alive for a long period

instant boot uses its own chip wich can store memory while the machine is off (but still supplied power)

whats the difference to the regular win 7 built in "energy sleep mode" ?

It "boots" same fast... why should i Install an additional app for this, if its already standard?

will this damage your computer in any way if you use fast or regular mode all the time? and how much power does it consume when it's 'off' in fast mode?

Yes, all kinds of problems you can't imagine. The same guy on this video demonstrated XFast USB technology, hundreds of asrock engineers worked hours and days, shows 20% copying your movie file faster, but blue screen, losing windows recovery point, data corruption.

Whatevery they claim harder, so called 'new' 'fast' 'technology', don't do it.

Buy good quality intel board, avoid Chinese/Taiwanese motherboard makers. Thank God if the capacitors didn't blow up after a year ago
