Yes, with perfect form as described loads are much lighter than when the form is varied by letting the elbows drop some. It's really good to train both ways IMO.

Wow... did these yesterday as part of my upper body strength w/o (after 2 board press). I could only do sets of 6 at the BAR and sets of 3 at 55 lbs and my 1RM in the bench press is 175 (60 kg female). Sad. definitely working on form... elbows to ceiling hard to maintain throughout the set.

This is a difficult movement to do properly, especially at first and with heavier loads. For now focus of maintaining technique and worry about loads later. I would say you are fine starting w/ the bar. Nothing wrong with that.

    Interesting

This is why I love youtube/the internet in general. I love try out new things, I think letting your routine stagnate is a game killer. This looks like a great way to build power in the triceps right where you need it in a BP

I just did triceps today. Now I can't wait to try this out in a few days

    Thanks for the vid man!

The awkward moment when you haven't watched the full video where he actually explains that the JM press is a hybrid between the french press and CGBP. Thank you, come again.
