The song "Pollution" was republished in 4:3 HQ in August 2009. This is the old version, still here. Again, Lehrer was ahead of his time. Pollution was not a hot topic in the sixties. But if Lehrer thought the world was polluted many years ago, I really wonder what he thinks today.

Lehrer said "OK" to"The Tom Lehrer Wisdom Channel", as long as the performance is not altered and as long as it's free in the YouTube flash video format.

Click on the user name and visit the channel's front page. The channel is Lehrer only. And here is a link to a NEW channel support page:

Sometimes when this video is played back the technical audio/video quality is even worse than the average YouTube crap. It wasn't like that when published in 2007. Has it become worse? I don't know. Please try to add &fmt=6 to the page address and reload the page. You might get a better playback. This video will be republished later.

@karaokekydOmaha, true. Lehrer would change that line over the years. Maybe he didn´t think that his exotic foreign audience would know where San Jose is?

@digitalproduce, yes, those lines were changed all the time, depending on where he was performing :-)

It's funny, some of the lyrics have been changed in this one. The line was "What they eat for breakfast in San Jose, they drink for lunch in San Francisco Bay" I think he changed it so that non Bay Area locals could get the gag.

@eshbena, yes. Actually, Tom Lehrer would make small changes to the lyrics for some of the songs over the years. Another example is "National Brotherhood Week" (read the video description for that one).

He's not that wrong, feeding cattle with hardly stomachable garbage had raised their 'farting' to a non-irrelevant level for the greenhouse effect.

Not sure if the dogs crapping on the streets are to blame. The rest is quite legit though.

If we are to analyse that, it might be some kind of tricky way of saying: "It's UUUUUUUUUUr fault"

Or maybe it's just an accent. Could be as well...
