Nelson Freire performs the third movement of Beethoven's Sonata in C major, Op.53, "Waldstein".
The recital by the legendary Brazilian pianist on Monday, April 9, 2007 was a highlight of the 2006-2007 Cliburn Concerts season at Fort Worth's Bass Performance Hall.

BRILLIANT response to the octave glissando issue. I, too, have small hands, and never considered doing the gliss in one hand (left). He imitates the sound of the glissando beautifully, and therefore we are not missing the effect.
