Yeah I hate to deliver a late reply like this to a stupid argument, but watching pain and suffering in enjoyment is not part of human nature, in fact its the opposite. We naturally do not want to see people being hurt or act violently to others. We are made like that for our on benefit. It's part of the whole natural selection and stuff. Why would we enjoy seeing members of a fellow species being harmed or killed? We don't.

How is the show exploiting the problem? It is presenting the problem in a realistic nature, and the violence is part of what is actually happening out there in the inner cities of America. The show doesn't glorify violence, and the viewers hardly get a thrill from watching such sad, yet cruel state of affairs. The show doesn't sugar coat anything, and what it gets the viewers to do is to confront the problems, and possibly push for a solution. The show is not an entertainment, it is an education
