you don't have an exact value with 0.999.. so you can't say 0.999...=1 because you don't use exact value so 9.999... substract by 0.999... is not equal to 9

so does 9.999... (It doesn't become 9.999...0, you can never reach the 0 like Vihart mentioned in the video, so you might as well leave it off.)

So all the 9.999..-.999 does is remove all of the 9's to the right of the decimal.
