Soviet/ USSR Anthem in English, with Soviet Videos (recorded from Victory Parade of 1945). By Paul Robeson.

English lyrics of this version

United forever in friendship and labour,
Our mighty republics will ever endure.
The great Soviet Union will live through the ages.
The dream of a people their fortress secure.

CHORUS:
Long live our Soviet Motherland, built by the people's mighty hand.
Long live our People, united and free.
Strong in our friendship tried by fire. Long may our crimson flag inspire,
Shining in glory for all men to see.

Through days dark and stormy where Great Lenin led us
Our eyes saw the bright sun of freedom above
and Stalin our Leader with faith in the People,
Inspired us to build up the land that we love.

CHORUS:
Long live our Soviet Motherland, built by the people's mighty hand.
Long live our People, united and free.
Strong in our friendship tried by fire. Long may our crimson flag inspire,
Shining in glory for all men to see.

We fought for the future, destroyed the invader,
and brought to our homeland the Laurels of Fame.
Our glory will live in the memory of nations
and all generations will honour her name.

CHORUS:
Long live our Soviet Motherland, built by the people's mighty hand.
Long live our People, united and free.
Strong in our friendship tried by fire. Long may our crimson flag inspire,
Shining in glory for all men to see.

Globalism is very feasible, but no one said it had to be perfect and we have to be the "bestest friends." Heck, the people in my household have feuds all the time, but we're still "together." Same with my community, my state, my country, and honestly, the world.

As for socialism: There -can- be social mobility. And, again, it's not dogmatic egalitarianism.

As for communism: It's a theoretical utopia that's supposed to emerge once "being a lazy asshole" has been extirpated from the gene pool.

There's an issue here. What you are defining as socialism isn't even close to what socialism actually is. I think you missed the point.

It's like saying "capitalism looks good on paper until you realize that not everyone owns enough gold to invest in something." It stems from a misunderstanding, as you should know that "not everyone has to be an investor" to have a capitalist system work.

Likewise, socialism is quite different from what you seem to think it is.

    Authoritarianism sucks, though.

People can't just truely be equal. But the idea of Socialism and Communism is rather beautiful. Sadly nobody has implemented FULL socialist or communist governments, the USSR got close until Stalin fucked it over.

in theory that may be true, but then again almost everything sounds and looks good on paper. in practice from what i have heard, read, and seen has not gone very well and as i said in my first posts what my views are on it.

Yeah, good luck with convincing everyone with centuries long feuds to stop hating each other and become bestest friends in the whole wide world. You are naive if you think globalism is feasible. The Arabs will bomb the shit out of the Jews/Israel at the firs chance they get and globalism will give them that chance.

Regulations also exist in capitalism. In socialism, there is no social mobility and classes stagnate. You can't move from one social class to another in socialism but you can in capitalism, especially capitalism that has the right amount of regulation that protects workers but doesn't cause stagnation of the business' income.

That's true of the Soviet Union, but not of communism, communism has never been achieved. But anyway, there's more equality in a socialist system than in a capitalist one.
