Just to help clear up the comments on tracker action. Large organs like this one are built with tracker action and have a mechanical console upstairs, usually behind the lowest section as here. They are then supplemented (when you have the money!) with an electric action which means a second "moveable" console can be put anywhere you like on the floor of the building. By using multiplexing or a digital action, the cable to the organ is only like a telephone wire. Hope that helps.

Tracker organ consoles do not necessarily have to be right up close to the instrument, but that design (along with the organist facing a wall instead of outwards towards the audience) was more common in early organs (I'm not providing a definite period of time, for fear of complaints from others!)

It just that the console is not movable (not without a lot of time, effort, and expertise that is!)

Klais of Bonn in Germany. I din't know the organ had a detached console? It is a tracker instrument.

The organist is a great musician. He played around an hour for 15 ppl including myself in the empty church. Great!
