Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Are Engaged — Hear Their Quotes on Marriage Through the Years

After seven years, six, kids, and countless rumors, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are engaged! PopSugar editor Britt Stephens is here with the details.

Brad's manager confirmed the news today, saying it's a "promise for the future and their kids are very happy."

The confirmation came just two days after Angelina was spotted sporting a huge rock on her ring finger, while she and Brad and Pax were at a special viewing at the LA County Museum of Art.

The ring was reportedly a collaboration between Brad and the jeweler and took a year for them to get to the final product.

For years, Brad and Angelina have been asked about their plans to tie the knot. In 2006, Brad told Esquire magazine they'd consider it "when everyone else in the country who wants to be married is legally able." Then two years after that, Angelina spoke out to say she wasn't missing out on anything by not being married:

"We jumped into being a family first and that just seems like the biggest commitment you can possibly make anyway so it doesn't feel like anything's lacking."

By 2011 though, Brad and Angelina began to reconsider their stance a bit since their children had started asking them about it.

Still, Angelina told Vanity Fair in October 2011 that there was no secret wedding in the works and deflected the question again in December of that year

"Do you plan to get married to Mr. Brad Pitt?"

"The kids asked me the other day and I asked them if it was just because they wanted to have big cake."/"We've explained to them that our commitment when we decided to start a family was the greatest commitment one could have."

There's no word on how Brad and Angelina's engagement came to be, and as for saving the special date? His manager says nothing is set yet, so for now, we just have to offer our congratulations to one of our favorite couples!
