This clip originally was filmed at a teen club, THE WORLD in Miami, 1966. Silent film was shot so I tried as best I could to synch up whatever picture was available to the sound track. As rock history goes, these guys were monsters, with hit after hit. Dino Danelli was a one of a kind drummer. Felix was a white soul man with B3 chops and vocals second to none. Enjoy these youthful rockers at their best.

Interesting how Dino still talks about The Rascals when except for last week and about a few times since '72 they've played together. They sold their publishing 35 +years ago and lost millions doing so. It crucified the band. Felix hates the others: big time. He could be in a 22 room mansion on his share alone. Dino & Gene get rare gigs as The New Rascals. Felix is all over the place.

The Monkees met a similar fate by signing their rights away as kids with no legal advice. They were star struck and went for the white hot spotlights on their signatures on the contract. Made a salary of approx $400/week, no residuals and a no compete clause with COLGEMS music to never be able to use "The Monkees" name....forever. Davey Jones lives on Florida's Treasure Coast raising and caring for thorobreds.

I think every baby boomer in America should pay The Rascals 10% of their yearly salary to give them back what they deserve. They ARE the image of the 60's and what it represented. America's band...

felix made good investments...real estate etc..he's loaded

the others are poor ass bums

last thing felix needs at this stage of his life is to be hanging with 3 old losers

so felix goes out and hires a band and plays and keeps all the loot

Why does Felix hate the others? and why haven't these guys reunited - there's got to be a good market for them touring - it seems crazy!

I'm a "baby boomer" and I wouldn't go THAT far. They were another band among many bands at that time with a few good songs. But, that's about it. They are NOT the image of the 60s for if that be true, they'd be an image of violence, hate, war, destruction, disallusionment. If you notice their later tunes, they were tunes that gravitated towards peace, love, understanding ... that "hippie" stuff, you know? America's band? LOL ... I heard that was the Beach Boys.

Fantastic. Love the clip. The Rascals were the greatest American band in the 60's. Sure the Beach Boys and the 4 Seasons were fantastic but for pure music and a tight sound the Rascal were it! Dino's drumming was second to none. His timing was perfect and he always looked so cool. Felix was a master. His Hammond B-3 sound was so soulful and made the music sound so full; Gene was an accomplished guitarist who blended perfectly with Dino and Felix. Eddie's voice was so melodic and soulfull.
