This is one of my favourite ads ever. Produced by a London agency in 1994 it was ground-breaking for it's day in both concept and state of the art graphics. It also features Louis Armstrong's classic song "All the time in the World".

2011: There is now a higher-res version of the second pass of this advert here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6deYNE...

Thanks for adding that comment royal618 because 'Powers of Ten' is brilliant and maybe inspirational to this advert.

i think you mean 1759, 1664 was the year of a continental piss flavoured beverage which is quite contrary to this fine one!

Wasn't there a 4-5 minute version of this advert that went out first with about 4 fly thoughs to different versions, including one with Ruger on a ship in the belly of a whale? All of which were used later as individual adverts to the same music.

We created this commercial at 'Cell Animation' London in 1994. I was one of the 4 CG artists working on the spot. We created the powers of 10 move in Softimage (CG animation software) and translated that to the motion control cameras to shoot the full scale set and the miniature tower. It was very difficult to blend the CG middle section and motion control together but it eventually worked out! The original music was Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons' but was later changed to 'All the time in the World".

I remember watching Channels 4's 100 greatest adverts and thinking that when people voted for the Guinness advert (which came first), they thought they were actually voting for this one rather than the one that won. I think the Guinness - Surfer ad is so pretentious in comparison
