The only time orices rose in the bush years was after Katrina, and all the gulf coast drilling, pumping, and refining was stopped for about 6 months. Funny how Democrats blamed Bush for that, and !.98 gas, but now with their man in, they say the president can do nothing, but bush had a dial in the oval office to set prices. And remember, Obama many times has stated over the years that Americans should be paying the equivalent to 8 dollars a gallon for gas, equivalent to what the Brits pay

In 1979 we had gas rationing under Carter, as Carter boycotted the Middle east because of the Iranian hostage Crisis, gas not only went up, but it was odd/even rationing.

U forgot 2008 or sometime when Bush was still pres. when gas was $5 4 a short bit. Gas jumped around so much during Bush jr's time it was silly. His approval ratings went up bcause he gave us a tax refund check N gas went up 2 pay 4 it. We went 2 war N gas went down 2 look like it wasn't about oil. Somewhere at then end of his presidency he went crazy n made gas 5 dollars a gallon. So everyone drove less. Then it went down. Obama has nothing 2 do w. oil except drilling it here 2 make it cheap

This song was from the Kinks 1979 LP when gas doubled in just over a year. It went from $.80 in 1980 to over $1.70 in 1992. The same 12 years we had reagon and Bush Sr as Presidents. It fell back to $.99 under Clinton before rising again under GW. At no point did they have any impact on the price. We did! 1978 was the last years of the big block muscle cars. People started buying Hondas and toyotas which were not that popular and hard to find on the roads before 1979.

I don't know where you got that information but it can't be more wrong. Drilling has increased to the point where the US will replace the Saudi's as the worlds leader in exporting oil by 2014. The Chevy Volt was in research as far back as the late 1990's and is still in production. I just looked it up and can buy a NEW 2013 model 4 miles from me. Both the Volt and Ford Fusion have won multiple awards and rate highly in Consumer satisfaction.
