I think I'd be tempted t avoid using the mirror box in a classroom. The effect can still be felt and my experience is that some people can freak out a little. "The rubber hand illusion" might be better and easier: youtube.com/watch?v=IKyctCYtsh8 there are a number of other video demos on youtube. Hope this helps, Andy

AWESOME! I just saw the House episode where he cures the military veteran with the amputated arm with a box like this.

Just scar the remaining hand. That would make the reflection look like the original.

    PS: woof

I am currently reading a book called THE BRAIN THAT CHANGES ITSELF written by Norman Doig, M.D. It is on brain plasticity and chapter seven is about Phantom Limb/Pain. I just read about Ramchandran and his mirror box. It was bizarre and I just had to find a video of the mirror box. So thanks for posting this.

Hahaha!!! xD Yes, the lovely... /watch?v=QSHaERIvFNE

I believe LED lights tend to be better though, especially in tandem with solar energy xD

I have to say, I love your idea 'trap light'. Sounds like a science fiction idea.

Yeah the mirror box should seal as quickly as possible and box should be as bigger as possible depending on the financial support ..... so far no one want to support my idea they say they already have Thomas Edison invention for dark times.

Oh... yeah, that might work a lot better than my idea :P

I would still advice something in the dark room that's very light sensitive.

Considering the speed of light... how fast do you have to seal the mirror-box (and how big should the box be) in order for the last beam of light not really escaping. And how could you trap enough light?

its simple, open the box in a dark room after a day of trapped light if there is still light in it, i will see a flash of sunlight in night.............
