She never said she saw it, she said Russia can be seen from Alaska. Nome is not the nearest city, Tin City is west of Nome, and its closer than Nome. How many listeners know that. You can see Russia from Tin City, Mainland to Mainland. CNN is so full of it.

Sarah Palin never once said that SHE had seen Russia from Alaska. She never once said that she could see Russia from her HOUSE...

She said that "you" (as in, some generalized person) COULD see Russia from Alaska... Which is true... you can see Russia from a western island that is part of Alaska. The POINT was that Russia is very close, and very prominent in the minds of Alaskans.

...wing media as usual. But the worst thing about this non-sense is how they just dont care that it doesnt even make sense. Like all they care about is trying to discredit Palin, who cares if they lie or mislead or whatever the fuck. The guy even starts off

'Heres the island that Gov. Palin sites as her foreign policy experience'

Really b/c thats a lie. Pretending to make sense, what high standards they have.

...like it matters that Palin has never been to this island even tho she never claimed to have been. Then they mention in the interview with Katie Couric that Palin listed dealing with the Russians as foreign policy experience. Which they subtlety imply that it doesnt count b/c she hasnt been to this island. Right so does Obama actually have to go to Afghanistan before he can deal with them.

It'd be funny if it wasnt so sad. B/c its not like this is an isolated incident. This is just our left...

'I can see Russia from my house'

Dont know whats dumber, all the tards who dont even know Palin never said that or the ones who dont really care or think it matters that its from SNL, then use it as an example of Palin's stupidity.

Or this ridiculous story by CNN which is basically a follow up story from the famed SNL quote to further discredit Palin. Yet this story takes the whole thing even further from any kind of sense. From start to finish the idiocy only multiples.

    For starters they act...

The same article claims that you can see Russia from the Tin City Air Force facility at Cape Prince of Wales, which is the westernmost point of the mainland Americas. The station chief at Tin City confirms that, for roughly half the year, you can see Siberian mountain ranges from the highest part of the facility.

You can also see Russia from other points in Alaska. According to a New York Times article written in the waning years of the Cold War (when the Alaska-Siberia border was known as the "Ice Curtain"), if you stand on high ground on the tip of St. Lawrence Island—a larger Alaskan island in the Bering Sea, southwest of the Diomedes—you can see the Russian mainland, about 37 miles away.

Looks lke Tina Faye and Saturday Night Live need some geography lessons. Of course, they twisted her words. She never said that she could see Russia from her house. Its strange how many people watched Saturday Night Live and believed that she actually said that and not checked out the truth. It's like the blind lead the blind into the ditch.
