Uilleann Pipes in D

After a brief break from the pipes, I decided to go back to basics and run through the Heather Clarke tutor tunes one by one. The first real tune most people learn from the Clarke tutor is this one. Garrett Barry's is a double jig well known from the playing of Willie Clancy. Garrett Barry was a blind piper from County Clare who lived from 1847 to 1899. His music is said to have had a great influence on traditional music in Clare.

The sad thing is I first learned this 15 years ago.

Moving from the UK to Japan really put a dent into my piping.

I got rid of the Ginsberg set. I Only play flat pipes in B now.

It's hard to go back to D after going flat.

Fantastic! I would never have guessed you took any time off. I am currently working on that song, Garrett Barry's Jig in the Clark tutor myself. However, this is my first time with it and I am horrible...triplets and rolls are killing me. In due time, in due time.
