Hereford & Worcester Animal Rescue - part 1

Interview with Steve and his rescued American Bulldog, Barney.

An emaciated, half blind American Bulldog is enjoying a new lease of life thanks to Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue. Barney, stumbled onto a remote farm late one evening, paws bleeding, his eyes so ulcerated they were literally stuck together, he was painfully thin and starving. Although a stray, he immediately came into the care of the Rescue so that urgent veterinary treatment could begin immediately. As a small self funding independent charity, we see far too many cases like Barney. The grant from the Kennel Club Charitable Trust gave us the help we needed to continue caring for the Herefordshire stray dogs and allowed us to carry on with our low cost neutering programme.

Carol does fantastic work for the dogs and always has... but it's always very fulfilling helping out yourself, you don't need to run a kennel to make a difference. And fun too. We had a fantastic bank holiday weekend getting the kennels finished and took another dog home in the process :)

I met Barney at Discover Dogs on the Charitable Trust stand this weekend. He was Lovely - Thanks to the Charitable Trust for helping this wonderful dog out.

What a beautiful, handsome dog. Lovebug, indeed. It's so wonderful to see how The Kennel Club Charitable Trust is ploughing its money back into the welfare of dogs.
