are you kidding me? You realize this is an entry level DSLT for 750 bucks right? Go look up AF comparisons between this and the Canon and you'll see just how superior this is. Plus as far as burst goes, nikon doesnt have a camera that can shoot this fast and the only one canons got is like $6000

I still prefer the sound of slapping mirror. It's so much more classic. I have an old Nikon FM that is too dirty to use: the sound of mirror and shutter is still amazing! I love those old mechanic film cameras :)

I think the sound comes from the shutter.

Probably because that's the sound of the shutter.

    the sound is crap...

the price is good and the specs are amazing, but there`s no flipping mirror, so why do they try to simulate the sound of a real dslr.

Err sony bought Minolta, who inspired the first A100 design. All of the Maxxum onward lenses are compatible with the Alpha range as well as all the specific lens Sony have produced. People are being petty, Pound for pound Sony beats most models.

Sony's lens collection isn't small, with around 270-300 lenses made in Sony/Minolta A mount - more than enough to satisfy some serious lens addicts. Only if you know a particular lens that you must have, and it's only available in Nikon, would this likely make the Sony a no-go.

The lower range Nikons have no in-body stabilisation so they must be paired with Nikon's lenses that have focus motors built-in. Their selection is large, but that is also something to be aware of.
