It may seem strange that I typed the name of this course in all capital letters, but that's the way it's spelled in the game. I'm honestly not sure why. Maybe it's short for something. "SEGA" is itself short for "Service Games." What could "CARNIVAL" be short for? "Charged Action Race, Never Insipid, Very Alluring Look"? "Carefree Nihilistic Valiance"? "Carnivorous Almond"?

Whatever the case, we're into the last pair of courses in the game, and they wrap up nicely with a nostalgia trip, albeit one that's almost exclusive to the 2000s. Still, many of these franchises hadn't sen the light of day in such a long time that any mention of them at all would be neat. At the point this game was made, anyway. (Some of these series have had sequels since then, so they'd probaby still be fairly fresh.)

The place is apparently a theme park based on SEGA franchises. It begins in the literally jumping and bustling town where Amigo lives from Sanba de Amigo, then goes onto the pirate ship from Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg. We're taken to a replica of Twin Seeds Tower from NiGHTS into Dreams, then to Jungle Island from Super Monkey Ball. The last leg is a mini-metropolis as seen in Crazy Taxi. Of course, these aren't the actual locations in the games. At least, I don't think they are.

A representative of these lands is Aiai. He's the leader of a troupe of simians encased in spheres in the Super Monkey Ball games. His board he takes to the races is...a pair of bananas. (They're known as "Banana," as a matter of fact.) Well, whatever works for Extreme Gear Racing, I suppose. Aiai is a Power character in this game, which is pretty weird as his goal in the Super Monkey Ball games is to get to the goal as quickly as possible, making him a Speed character in that sense. Similarly, another character I haven't showcased yet should be a Power character...
