I like her singing a lot - but i have to say I wish she sang alone - singing with a backup says that sometimes my voice fails and the backup can cover it up, i guess she did this as she got older?

Also does she know Telugu? She sings "Kata Kata Padithi" when it should be "Katta Kadapadithi" (not this song)

Just getting in to this music. Beautiful precise voice. Looking forward to hearing more.
Dont know why people have to argue about a such great artist as she obviously was. Surely the important thing is the music.

MS was Tamil - born into a famous musical family. Her primary teacher was the great Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer. The reason why it is not correct to compare her to Lata is that her training was in the classic Carnatic tradition and therefore was a form of Bhakti. Her reknown genius came from her extraordinary devotional music. No woman of her time came even close to her perfected voice. It will take long for anyone to match her achievments.

her voice is so divine. there are soo few singers who can give passion to the name of god in their songs.
