yeah desi can extend to pakistanis too... a lot of us don't like it due to the negative connotations assosiated with the word 'desi' in our everyday language.
Since, the urdu word for 'home' is 'watan', desi doesnt ring a bell for 'local' :D
But i m sure they were singing for indians :P not pakis.
