hard for him to upload more... since these were obviously filmed on the sly. kalekshetra does not allow any video, filming, or photography or their dtaged performances. If you want to see this come to Chennai. I go to perfomances like this every other week. And this is Rukmini devi choreography, although new performances are choreographed by Leela Sampson or Segit Krishna
There are performances like this every other week? whoa Are they regular performances or arangetrams? I didn't think the traditional margam was performed very often anymore.
This week, Rukmini Devi Arudale Ramayana group performances are being staged every NIGHT! But Ive been attending other bharatanatyam perfomances this week.. already seen the Ramayana a few times. This is not a traditional margam. Its a group drama. But here in Chennai the traditional margam is still the default setting for bharatanatyam performances. i see them constantly.
Yes, he is a master of Kalakshetra style. Thank you very much for the info! I asked too, it is so. :) There are many similar choreographies for this Thillana in youtube, but for the first time I saw exactly the same one (or at least it tha parts). It was nice to see it! Thanks once more! :)))))
