Pelican - Dead Between The Walls

Does anyone else think that Pelican are to Metal what Captain Beefheart was to Blues? It sounds like metal, because of the way it's played, but it doesn't actually do any of the thing metal songs do - It's something dificult and weird, seperate from anything your instincts can get a hold of, and you just have to take it as it is. It's like the Metal sound stripped of all it's musical baggage and just slapped down on it's own, to confuse and intrigue.

they are actually pretty sick. but i totally get what you mean.. it think its weird that i will talk about them and then trend kids will be like yeah bro they are sick blah blah

I found an iPod once and Pelican was on it. Never heard of them before that. Awesome band!

you obviously know nothing about music. Pelican is awesome, and if there "commercial" there doing a terrible fucking job at it. seriously educate yourself.

this just doesn't have the same atmosphere older generation doom bands had. their music is clearly aimed towards juggalos and their kinfolk.
