Nike Smoky Mountain Running Camp - "Timeless: A Tribute to Coach Benson"

A good deal of you have heard this a couple of times so far. You chose a special week to come to camp. Coach Benson's last week as head director, of Nike Smoky Mountain Running Camp.

There's a lot of reasons that staff, JC's, JCIT's, and Rec Directors are always clamoring to come back and work again year after year, and Coach Benson is a large part of that.

Coach has created a culture here that's a privilege to be a part of, whether attending as a camper, or a counselor.

The video I'm about to play is a couple of things. It's a tribute to Coach and all the work and effort he has put in to 40 years of camp. It's also a recap of some of the more memorable moments of the week. Hopefully, after watching this video, you'll be able to realize what makes Nike Camp special. What makes Nike camp unique. There's a lot of camps throughout the country you could have attended this Summer. You chose Nike camp. We hope you got as much out of this week as we got working with each one of you.

As Kyle Butler noted, it's incredibly refreshing and reenergizing to come back to camp each year and see the passion for running, pure unfiltered passion. It's a special thing.
