It's an anti war song at heart in my opinion, its not saying soliders dont have a soul, but rather a call to the people of america and the world, open your eyes to your leaders they will send you off to war for their own profit and their own glory. I like bill bailey but hes totaly missed the point!

As i said in my opinion, i never claimed to be right :), to me it seems as if comes from a conversation in parts from some one who was destined to join the army. The the joy of music you find your own meaning in songs, not that i read into every song. Theres plent of sites devoted to peoples interpretations, the only one who really knows is the song writer themselves. Whats your interpretation?

well, to be fair i never really try to interpret the meaning of song lyrics, better to just listen and enjoy rather than analyse i think. but what i didnt think you were right about was the "open your eyes to your leaders they will send you off to war for their own profit and their own glory" part. youre right, people can have their own opinions and thats fine but this is mine.
