get helmets, brakes (yes I know you don't need brakes but trust me they're useful) and some common sense...

... and we wonder why motorists try and run us cyclists off the roads. stop filming yourselves dodging in and out of traffic and you might prevent some idiot fixster kid from killing himself trying to imitate this... sheesh

I'm not saying fixies are bad, just the way people use them. I work in a bike shop and everyday I see guys coming in wanting to convert old road bikes to fixies without any knowledge about how much stress it puts on the body and practice it takes to ride a fixie safely and properly. It's a trend and a dangerous one at that. Also, wearing a helmet never hurts. It's better than brain surgery and inconsiderate riders who don't obey the law are always bad, fixie rider or not.
