Just out of curiosity, did Ikuhara explicitly say they are NOT a couple in the interview? It just seems strange if he did say that, because I recall another interview in which he discussed his desires to make Utena and Anthy a couple from the getgo and Chiho Saito's (the manga creator) upset reaction to that.

One of the most awesome animes I've ever seen (from its time).

It's funny how most animes that are older have Sailor Moon-like animation...but the story is always what counts, yes? ^_^

Oh yeah, you can totally tell they're Sailor Moon-esque; disproportionately long legs, gigantic eyes, and men and women have the body types. Love it! :D
