Right: clarinet comes over way too loud - not sure this is a recording problem or the sound of this particular clarinet which just does not have the warm sound this piece demands.
I heard that recording clarinet music can be tricky because of the unusual overtone characteristics of the instrument....

wow you guys start pretty loud - maybe the mic was too close - maybe its cuz your training for the big concert hall
