I love the use of strings to give that counter beat, the underlying sense of dread that while on the surface the lyrics are hopeful, the orchestration is telling us the opposite.

I was listening to the cast practicing this today after school. No matter how many times they repeated the song (and they did a LOT) I was struck, each time, by how heartfelt the lyrics are and how hopeful the melody is.

It's a beautiful song, one of the best in the musical.
