In Japanese, cat is neko, so you'll probably find people who speak Japanese calling it 'neko basu' or 'neko bus', and those who speak English calling it 'cat bus'. Easy!
For what it's worth I know it as 'neko basu' but when talking to English people, I'd say 'cat bus'.
Not really sure how anyone who claims to adore this movie can be nasty about what term you use for the cat bus. I have seen the movie several times but never known it to be the Neko bus. However, I am not going to belittle anyone for whatever term they want to call it. Really does it suit anyone or the nature of the movie to belittle anyone for whatever they decide to call it? Get back into the spirit of the movie and what it's about...EVERYONE!
There's no need to get smug, pedantic and wrong. I HAVE seen this movie. I call it 'catbus' for fun. Why do you have such a problem with that, that you have to go showing off this rediculous cat terminology? 'It's not a cat but sometimes it's known as a chesire cat?' I
