Rimsky-Korsakov was a master colorist
vocally and in orchestrations. Gedda uses his beautiful voice with a painter's
pallet here and it is quite wonderful.
Thank you.

Gorgeous! One of the most hauntingly beautiful Russian tenor arias sung by a master.

If you question was meant for the "West", it was perhaps not a very good idea to write in cyrrilic. But what is the situation in Russia? Is Čajkovski there played less than Rimski-Korsakov?

Удивляюсь почему на западе известен только Чайковский, а Римский-Корсаков незаслуженно забыт?

Rimsky is one of the greatest opera composers, if only people can accept him on his own terms and not compare him to Wagner or Verdi. He's not a dramatist, although his music is deeply moving.
