I am American, but have lived in the EU for almost 10 years. Yes, the EU has its problems. But come on they are trying to advance and live in the 21st century. The US is dangerous and dumb, a bad combination. Global governance and regulation is needed if we hope to survive until the next century. The "guy" from Spain is Portuguese. He's the president of the European Commission and uses in English as well as French and Portuguese in his speeches. He just happens to speak in English in this video, he doesn't use English exclusively. And why should all people use English? There are 23 official languages in the European Union, English, like French is just one of them, no more or less important, and all the speeches are translated in headphones in all the languages of the EU.
