Bill Conti's score is so sterile, so dry. I'm not able to find this unique european atmosphere in his music. Boring rasp cliche, without romance and feeling of freedom.

Unfortunately, Conti's score is timed for the USA length of the film. So, it was much easier to use Serra's longer score for DVD (and it was Besson's preference). Having seen both versions hundreds of times, I definetely prefer Conti's score. The ending in both is open to interpretation and doesn't bother me, but I would have love to have the mermaid phone call in the US version. Nonetheless, having the Conti score on a DVD version of the film would be tremendous.

We should find a good address to contact, and not just a Terms Of Service address on a website. Then send the address to everybody here making comments. Tell them to release a DVD with the score on it. Maybe just an order online DVD since sales may not be as high, unless they advertise it correctly with all the stars and the director. New film enthusiasts would love to buy it.

Ca me rappelle de l'epoque en 1988 quand je suis aller au cinema dans un petit ville au Sud de la France - St Jean de Luz.. Luc Besson, Jean Reno et Jean-Marc Barr (comme il etait si beau!)
