It's not only about Windows having or not such manager (Compiz is very efficient and helpful BTW) - it's all about how lightweight those effects are. It takes ~30MB of RAM (yes, thirty NOT three hundred). An ancient Radeon 9200SE 64MB DX 8.1 is enough to see 90% of what's in this vid. Altogether with GNOME desktop my Ubuntu takes 200MB and runs smoothly on Celeron 2,4Ghz with 768MB of RAM. Now compare it with requirements of Vista or even Win7.
Wine is a compatibility layer not an emulator.;)

Is this all people with Ubuntu do? Spend hours getting this shit to work, then post it on Youtube, and say look at the one thing Linux can do that Windows can`t.

I wonder how many Microsoft programmers work on this app for Linux ? why can't Windows do these effects ? it must be the underlying structure of Windows that prevents it
