It would be hard to follow subtitles and focus on the images, I appreciate the voice over for this reason

You're not helping your point, even if you are very much technically correct. That said, if you know this then you also know that people have come to use a small number of terms to express different things.

Photography is exposing film to an image. People who use digital cameras are still practicing the art of seeing; perhaps we could chill out and agree that "digital photography" is a valid term?

What offends me is the culture of the DSLR. No thought, just rapid-fire. Here is the real issue.

Beautiful.
Especially with the gigue from the French Suite in G !

But PLEASE...why have they a voiceover translation (albeit
beautifully read) instead of sub-titles ? Cartier-Bresson's voice has a lovely quality.
I even love the sound of the photographic paper.

Strange that such a film on the delights of vision and sight is equally an aural treat.

Thank you for posting this.

I don't know why you got so many thumbs-down. You're just making a point.

Odd isn't it? I guess we're used to ad hominem attacks during the last few years.

Luckily, I didn't point out the problem with 35mm SLRs and the "decisive moment"! (hehe)

erm.. why dont you just use a DSLR then? 1000D is quite compact. but if youre a purist you know what to get - a Leica M8. :D
