Because of the distance and poor quality of this video footage this chudan mawashi geri (middle level roundhouse kick) may not look so fast, but I'll let you decide ;-) It is a pretty good example...

Love it. Makes the point that the kick will work and the opponent can still stay standing with a bit of effort. Very different than the careless "i kick as hard as i can so that maybe it will blast through the block"-kinda kick we see nowadays (due in most part cause of bad referees and overly padded shins, in my opinion) Ippon

In watching this again....the contact is fine his opponent just needs to do more sit-ups. Andre looked as if he had good control, not following through with his hips into the kick, and was nice by not using his toes! ;) I mean if he drives it in another inch or two, that guy is not getting up for a bit.

Haha! Nice kick but I think too painful, almost qualifies as a hansuko
