First public QUICKSCAN Electronic Publishing demo 1986

Before there was an Internet, there was QUICKSCAN Indexed-video Electronic Publishing. The history is on www.quickscan.org

This video segment was broadcast by Television New Zealand on December 20, 1986. It generated thousands of postal responses, and was instrumental in convincing Rupert Murdoch to take exclusive worldwide licenses to all "TV-Guide" type applications for a period of 10 years.

The methodology is still relevant, most particularly, to HD TV and very large screen displays.
