Walking around Surtsey, Iceland with Dr. Jim Garvin (former lead scientist for NASA). I created this series using footage I had orginally shot for a Discovery/Science Channel program entitled "Mars Rocks!", produced by Albert Fisher and directed by James Mottern.

Sorry Dr. Garvin, but I must shake your cage a bit ... the object on Mars was to follow the water. You are following the lava which is vastly different and furthermore, you keep on refering to Meridiani, which Oppy has shown to be formed by sediments laid down in a lake or sea of water and it had nothing to do with lava. Yes, had you referred to Spirit you would have been closer to the truth.

He is much to excited, He talks to fast and says Surtsey and Mars way to many times lol :-) Comparing him to David Attenborough makes him look stressed out and hyperactive. He needs to slow down.

You cannot go there without a special permission from some special governmental agency and I think you have to be a scientist and reason a probable cause to go there.

You could make it into a drinking game.

Why is it important to study a volcano before going to mars? There's no volcanic activity on that planet.

Haha, it's like he thinks that if he doesn't keep saying Surtsey we will go "Oh, is he on mars now?"

    Amazing island.

Anyone counted the number of times he said Mars or Surtsey?
