Tony Capstick sings a Ewan MacColl song (No.1)

During the mid 70's I was gonna be the next Bob Dylan. I had flogged everything I owned in order to purchase a second hand Gibson J45 for £95 and was sitting with it in its flimsy case on Sheffiel...

Greatest local radio presenter ever, and absolutely brilliant to work with.
Miss the man terribly, the 6th anniversary of his death is coming up. RIP Cappo.

Gosh yeh!!I remember them well, I'll see what I can dig out. 'Her father did'nt like me' was a Jerry Rafferty song which Tony taught me and I played it for a while. Cappo could always dig out unusual songs for his set, and had a unique way of interpreting them. 'Hello friends' was another one I loved to play, i think it was written by Harvey Andrews, and I still have the lyrics Tony scribbled down for me on the back of an envelope on the way to a gig in Luton - funny what you remember.

Thanks swho129 for your comment, I'm chuffed these recordings are sparking memories of Tony. Yes he did often make reference to Sir 'arthur' and indeed sir 'Geoffrey'! Tony was very astute about the world we live in and had a knack of putting a hundred words in a nutshell.
