During the mid 70's I was gonna be the next Bob Dylan. I had flogged everything I owned in order to purchase a second hand Gibson J45 for £95 and was sitting with it in its flimsy case on Sheffield railway station when along came this bloke in a smart leather jacket and we talked until our trains come. This meeting forged a lifelong friendship with the bloke called Tony Capstick. I drove Tony all over, playing folk clubs, festivals, touring Cornwall together and other stuff. Ask anyone who knew him, and they'll all say you never knew what was gonna happen next. Someone should make a film about him. He became such a big person in my life, and I know he had this magical effect on everyone. He was a comic genious, a natural entertainer, a brilliant singer and interpreter of folk song, a very competent guitar and banjo player, a top radio presenter, an actor, and an exceptionally intelligent well read and articulate little twat. Apart from his TV work and recordings there doesn't appear to be any video stuff of him performing. I hope there maybe some stuff out there of 'cappo' for us all to see and hear on this internet wizardry. Cheers Tony lad, we oll miss thee.

Greatest local radio presenter ever, and absolutely brilliant to work with. Miss the man terribly, the 6th anniversary of his death is coming up. RIP Cappo.
I'm really pleased this Utube thing has stimulated interest in Tony and I thank YOU ALL sincerely for your comments, I know he would be so chuffed being remembered and thought of so affectionately and in such hight regard, keep dropping by and i'll see what else I can come up with
I loved this guy, saw him many times live at Ashinton folk club when i was little. Does anyone know if his albums are available. What a talent. Man I love U Tube.
my other faves from this era include casey's last ride, her father didnt like me anyway and to ramona. any chance of uploading any of these pinknblues ?
Gosh yeh!!I remember them well, I'll see what I can dig out. 'Her father did'nt like me' was a Jerry Rafferty song which Tony taught me and I played it for a while. Cappo could always dig out unusual songs for his set, and had a unique way of interpreting them. 'Hello friends' was another one I loved to play, i think it was written by Harvey Andrews, and I still have the lyrics Tony scribbled down for me on the back of an envelope on the way to a gig in Luton - funny what you remember.
Thanks swho129 for your comment, I'm chuffed these recordings are sparking memories of Tony. Yes he did often make reference to Sir 'arthur' and indeed sir 'Geoffrey'! Tony was very astute about the world we live in and had a knack of putting a hundred words in a nutshell.
