At the roof of a now demolished apartment building in Macdonnell Road no.62 Dutch expats spend a lazy afternoon in 1949. A Xmas dinner is prepared by their Chinese servant.     Indeed. In 1949 I got a lift from the club by the lover of Han Suyin in the back of his MG. I sat on a patch of red lead which ruined my suit completely.

    Personally this era was the best for music..morality..culture and most

    of all humanity. No era was totally perfect but the mid 40,s to late 50,s

    were truly ideal for automobiles styling especially. Sad to see how change

    has removed much of mistery and splendor long ago.
