It's amazing how he can concentrate with this noise!

L'ho conosciuto a Roma. è un gran signore, un grande uomo suona(va) divinamente e gli ho anche stretto la mano complimentadomi con lui.

spero mi abbia lasciato qualcosa con quella stretta di mano.

I've often tuned harpsichords and it's not hard to figure out what GL is doing here (tuning unisons among the 8' strings and octaves with the 4' strings) and to hear the mistunings he is correcting despite the noise and the relatively poor YouTube audio. Nowhere in this vid is he establishing a temperament, which would require less background noise. While every harpsichordist should be able to do what Leonhardt does here, few have the musicianship the late master displays in other YT clips.

Very nice work for prepared harpsichord! I'm glad to see maestro Leonhardt involded in promoting John Cage's music as well :-)

The real shame is your inability to see the informative value of this. The fact there is documented proof now, of his ability to tune amidst that many distractions is demonstration of the mastery of his skills.

Perhaps you should also go see more concerts of various genres. You'll note it's fairly common that other stuff is going on when musicians are setting up. The audience simply doesn't sit still & do/say nothing. Pictures (depending on the venue) & convos happen.
