Thanks for teaching us English online. I have a question about 2 sentences I read from a newspaper. Please explain why the sentences use 'past tense'- appeared; said. 1. It's about time you appeared. 2. It's about time I said good-bye. Would you mind to explain? Thanks a lot.

That's a good question, since the past tense is not logical, but both sentences are certainly correct. I will send you a message to your inbox because it is too complicated to explain in 500 letters and spaces.
