Why thumbs down the comments supporting PC. As glorious as Apple is in design, Windows is user friendly, you can't deny that.

@MapleButterToast user friendly? you have got to be kidding me. the only reason i myself switched to apple was because of user friendliness. plus no viruses. i don't think that helps user friendliness any more. maybe you should try a mac.

I do use a mac for design, it's great and all. But I like to use PC for office work.

eek i dont use apple. the large 90% of people if given a choice would not use windows. Consumers do not have a choice to run anything other than windows its the only operating system capable of running the applications they want to use. Its the app's they want not windows. If others could build and OS that could run the same applications i am certain they would use it. Microsoft has Monopolized the whole system, that's clearly not right neither is it healthy business.

That's a complete laughable lie. Which OS businesses use is decided by the IT, and IT have for over 20 years unanimously agreed on Windows operating system for its ability to make changes, recover lost files, manage servers and all-around speed and reliability.

You may want to re-check on the 2009 surveys there, linux/unix environments populate a large amount of high end servers. Are you saying that other companies can manufacture an operating system that works with all windows applications eg exe, dll, directx? funny that as i am sure Microsoft will find something and sue you if you did, now that's not a lie. B Gates has been accused of Monopolizing the market before like this, you need read the news to realize that one.

You fool. The people who design programs for Windows do so by choice. All of those thousands of free applications online were made by the free choice of the authors themselves. Why? Because Windows provides ample support for programmers, such as Visual Studio, and supports thousands of drivers and hardware that Apple does not. It is the better Operating System.

Developers do have that choice granted but i was talking about the users. If the user wants the application but does not want to use windows he ends up stuck not being able to use the application. Hence he is forced to have to use windows or not use the application. Users should have the choice to cross platform software from a non-developers point of view that is. As you say its the developers choice so I guess it comes down to the root of all evil again 'Money'
